Abstract
Objectives : In this study, we will discuss about effect of individual¡¯s religious orientation on their self-efficacy and anxiety.

Methods : For this study, we conducted a survey about religious orientation, self-efficacy, and anxiety to 309 students in capital area. We used Intrinsic-Extrinsic religious orientation measurement, self-efficacy measurement and STAI (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory). To analyze data, we used Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, multiple regression analysis.

Results : For males, intrinsic religious orientation and extrinsic religious orientation, intrinsic religious orientation and self-efficacy showed positive correlation, and self-efficacy and anxiety showed negative correlation. For females, intrinsic religious orientation and extrinsic religious orientation, intrinsic religious orientation and anxiety showed positive correlation, but intrinsic religious orientation and self-efficacy, self-efficacy and anxiety showed negative correlation (p<0.01). To review the difference of major factors depend on participants¡¯ sex, we conducted t-test. It is verified that sex difference is not statistically significant in all variables. On Multiple regression analysis, high intrinsic religious orientation affects high self-efficacy to male (¥â=0.233, p=0.010), but high intrinsic religious orientation affects low self-efficacy to female (¥â=-0.206, p=0.007). Also, high intrinsic religious orientation of female affects high anxiety significantly (¥â=0.192, p=
0.013).

Conclusion : On this study, different to earlier studies that only focused on correlation of religious orientation and other measures, we could verify that religious orientation affects self-efficacy and anxiety according to sex. This will help people to understand even people who have same religious orientation can be different or conflict in self-efficacy, anxiety, and other internal factors according to sex, and find the way to take a cautious approach with this study.
